Apparently -- Magazine Layout Analysis

I admire this magazines efforts in rebelling against the conventions of a magazine (i.e. having two large columns instead of three smaller ones and having un-even margins) in order to appear as a more relaxed, cooler magazine which would appeal to their niche teenage audience. However, I don't plan on adopting this idea for my magazine because my magazine isn't targeted at a niche teenage audience who would be attracted to a more relaxed magazine layout. I also don't like the fact that this spread has no folio or section folio because without either it doesn't look like a magazine but more like pages from a leaflet.

Nevertheless, I do like the style of the main image, it's caption and the deck, and I'm considering incorporating these aspects of this particular Apparently spread into my magazine.
